Vetroplas’ tube manufacturing partner, CTL Packaging, has responded to the growing need for more sustainable packaging solutions by proposing three significant options: in mould labelled all PP (polypropylene) tubes, Green Tubes extruded from bio PE (polyethylene) and PE extruded tubes produced with PCR (post consumer recycled) material.
CTL has been a pioneer in recent years in the development and production of in mould labelled PP tubes. Branded ESTubes (Easy Supply Tubes), they have many advantages over extruded PE tubes: added value with 100% of the tube decorated, reduced lead times, a simpler and less costly development process, digital printing etc. However, the most relevant factor in today’s climate is that the complete pack is made from a single material; the printed label, the material injected to form the body and the cap are all PP, making this a 100% recyclable and eco-friendly choice.
Extruded PE tubes are now also offered with up to 50% of PCR material in the sleeves. This material was originally packaging that has been ground up and mixed with virgin PE, and is available across all diameters produced by CTL. The main green credential of PCR is that it promotes the circular economy by reintroducing waste into the production chain.
Green Tubes are extruded using 100% bio PE derived from sugar cane grown in controlled areas of Brazil, far from the Amazon rainforest. Green tubes have a lower environmental impact with a reduction of CO2 gas emissions. Retaining the same properties of PE of fossil origin, CTL can still offer a full range of decoration services, including offset and silk screen printing, plus hot foil stamping.
All of the above options are available with a minimum order quantity of 10,000 x units, the same as standard virgin PE extruded tubes.
